Could Your Neighborhood Use Community Volunteers
Bowling Green Neighborhoods

**UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING PROVIDES VOLUNTEERS FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS**

United Way of Southern Kentucky is now accepting project proposals for
organizations who wish to engage volunteers through United Way's 5th
Annual Day of Caring on Wednesday, July 31st.  Perhaps your
neighborhood group could use volunteers for a special project or even
get involved together to volunteer for a project put on by another
organization!  You can download a Word version of the Project Proposal
Form

United Way of Southern Kentucky's Day of Caring is an annual day of
volunteerism mobilizing hundreds of local volunteers to complete
community service projects throughout Allen, Barren, Logan, Simpson, and
Warren Counties. 1210 volunteers completed 105 projects as part of the
2012 United Way Day of Caring!

The Day of Caring is your opportunity to connect active community
members to your organization by showing them that the services you
provide really do matter. Volunteers are individuals and groups from
local companies, organizations and the community.  All ages, including
youth and adults, are welcome to participate as volunteers in this
event.

I have attached further information about who can be a project provider
and a flyer showcasing the benefits to your organization. If you would
like to submit a project proposal, please complete the attached Project
Provider Participation Agreement and Volunteer Project Proposal Form and
submit to Mandy Hicks (fax: 270-843-3236; email: mhicks@uwsk.org ).
**Project proposals must be received by** May 22nd.  Please refer to
www.unitedwaydayofcaring.com for more information during the months
leading up to the event or for a copy of the Volunteer Project Proposal
Form.

Also, please make plans to attend the post Day of Caring celebration in
your county to help thank your volunteers for their hard work.
